| EG McDowell Scholarship (Education) | |
In 2002, Dr Gordon McDowell bequeathed an amount of money enabling the Avondale Foundation to create an annual scholarship, of $2,000, for a 3rd year undergraduate education student or a 2nd year BTch student who meets the following criteria; |

1. |
Has achieved at least a credit average in the Professional Experience components of his or her respective teacher education course. |
2. |
Has achieved the highest cumulative Grade Point Average of the first and second years of the respective undergraduate courses, or the highest Grade Point Average in the first year of the respective BTch courses. |
3. |
Applicants must be baptised members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, regularly attending their local congregation. |
4. |
Applicants must be permanent residents of a country located in the South Pacific Division. |
5. |
Payment of this scholarship is contingent upon passing all subjects in the first and second years of their undergraduate education course or first year BTch course. |
6. |
Applicants may only benefit from one Avondale College scholarship in one year. |
7. |
Applicants must have previously demonstrated competence in professional experience. |
8. |
Applicants must have previously demonstrated a sound academic record. |
